Last Day in Jordan

Roman Theater in Amman
It was really awesome... we had some people in our group who could sing well perform for us on the stage, then we all got together and sang "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and "I am a Child of God." If you were at the very top of the theater you could still hear us clearly... the acoustics rocked.

Market place

Catie, Katie & Katie

Jordan River
Where Jesus Christ was baptized
Sang "Lord I Would Follow Thee"
Pondered the perfect example of Christ

Thank you, Jordan. I appreciate it.

Day 3

King Abdullah Mosque
Learned how Muslims worship. Really insightful!
They're very dedicated and sincere people.
We couldn't help but take this last picture... these robes they made us wear made us look like dementors off of Harry Potter

Caleb and I somehow always find ourselves matching

Jabbok River
En route to meet Esau, Jacob sent his family first and crossed the Jabbok. At this site, called Penuel, Jacob wrestled with an angel and his name was changed to Israel. Here he saw God face to face... what a special place!

We were able to see a Roman re-enactment which demonstrated army tactics and how life was back then. Totally cheesy, but a good time nonetheless.

Jerash
One of the best preserved Roman cities in the world

Royal Automobile Museum
I would look good driving one of these, right? All the boys were drooling over these cars.

PETRA

Welcome to Zion National Park... in Jordan

Can you see it? Are you excited? Get ready...

It's the treasury! The name's Miss Indiana Jones, thank you very much.

Epitome of my life? I think so. Just for you Mark! This magical animal stole my heart as it walked me around. I've gotta get me one of these things. And yes I AM riding it in a skirt. I couldn't let it hold me back!

The Nabataeans buried their elite in rock-cut tombs with carved facades

Hiked up over 800 of these steps to....

... the Monastery. It took my breath away and my jaw just dropped when I saw it. It was MASSIVE and way bigger than the treasury. How were they able to carve this back then?! Brilliant people. Absolutely brilliant.

The steps also took us to the 'top of the world' apparently. Awesome view! I live for this kind of thing... I could have easily spent another day just exploring.

The land of JORDAN

The view from Mt. Nebo, where Moses stood and overlooked the Holy Land! Can you imagine what it would be like to finally get there after wandering for 40 years?

Saw how mosaics were made! I'm determined to make one someday.

 Machaerus
Where John the Baptist was beheaded
This was an awesome sight... on top of a hill overlooking the desert, with the Dead Sea in the background
